One of my favorite self-care products is my diffuser. I add water, essential oils of my choice and instantly change my mood. I have diffusers in everyone’s bedrooms. It can really set the mood. Here are my favorite essential oils and what they do to improve my life.

Lavender Essential Oil

By far, I believe lavender essential oil is the favorite amongst friends and family. It is so versatile. I make an all-purpose cleaner with it (half water, half distilled vinegar and 30-40 drops of lavender essential oil). I have used it to help with sleep, during labor to help keep me calm. It is a staple scent in our diffusers before bedtime. It is known for helping to relax the body. Whenever I smell the scent, I envision myself in a relaxing spa, because it is a commonly used smell for spas as well. This is a must-have!

Lemon Essential Oil

Nothing really beats the smell of clean when it comes to a lemon scent. It isn’t the “chemical” clean smell of bleach, but a more natural and subtle smell. It is very uplifting and clearing. I like to use lemon essential oil in my previously mentioned DIY all-purpose cleaner that I use in the bathrooms. It is also a great essential oil to place in the diffuser in the morning to help wake everyone up with a cheery disposition. Definitely give this oil a try if you haven’t already.

Rose Otto Essential Oil

The benefits of rose otto essential oil were tested in a scientific study, and was deemed positive for helping with postpartum depression and anxiety. This is definitely something calming for mothers to use after delivering a baby. It helps us relax as our hormones regulate, and our lives change forever.

Get aromatherapy to change your mood with the use of a diffuser and essential oils.

Diffuser

This is all you need to diffuse the scent of essential oils into your home. I keep mine in bedrooms, the kitchen, and living room area.

Outside of the benefits I mentioned, there are a ton of things essential oils do. They are a part of alternative medicine. Always remember that they are super concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Please keep your essential oil stash out of reach from small children. And try various blends to help achieve your goals. One beautiful postpartum blend I have used in the past was lavender and rose otto. Just thinking about it puts me in a great mood.

Take Care!
