Many families are spending more time at home with their children these days. At times, we may feel guilty about the increased amount of screen time, and lack of extracurricular experiences. Here is a great activity that my children and I loved. One of the best parts for me was that everything that you need was in the box. These days I need as much convenience as possible. Give me all of the pre-packaged DIY kits, please!
The company DIY Gift Kits has several different kits for easy at home DIY (do it yourself) activities. They create kits that foster bonding, learning and creativity. The kit I used with my children recently was the Bath Bomb Making Kit. This kit actually took care of two things (1) a screen-free activity for the children (2) a bath bomb for bedtime that the whole family can use. This was a win-win!
Inside the kit you receive almost everything you need such as baking soda, citric acid, and epson salt. They are well-labeled and instructions are provided. Some of the extra things you will need to complete the kit are usually in everyone’s pantry. I need measuring cups, measuring spoons, coconut oil, and a mixing bowl. Additional items like paprika or spirulina can be used to add color to the bath bombs. We decided not to color ours.
The children were able to get their little hands messy, which is a great sensory activity. The measurements they took to create their bath bombs incorporated math. Who knew that making bath bombs could be educational as well as a form of self care for mommy later on? We will be doing this again soon.
We formed the bath bombs into balls and waited a day for the balls to solidify. I placed them in the refrigerator to make the process happen faster. Then we were ready to use them at bath time. Let me tell you…this made bath time so much easier! Everyone was more than excited to get ready for bed because they wanted to see how their homemade bath bombs performed.
I found this kit convenient and fun! If you are looking to expand your activities at home, or have an activity stashed away in case the kids can’t go outside, then this is a great thing to have on hand. It also makes a great birthday gift. I would honestly love to see this as a birthday gift for my children compared to another single-use toy. Let me know in the comment section about any other activity kits that are family fun and convenient. Sharing is caring in our mommy community!
