Valentine’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with the kids and create lasting memories. I like to add decor around the house for the holiday as well as setup a small Valentine’s Day party for the kids at the house. I have sweets, decoration, music and a few fun games.
Here are three festive Valentine’s Day ideas that you can enjoy at home with children ages 10 years old and younger:
- Valentine’s Day Card Making: Set up a craft station with colored paper, markers, stickers, and glitter. Encourage the kids to create personalized Valentine’s Day cards for their friends and family. They can get creative with their designs and write heartfelt messages to express their love.
- Heart-Shaped Treats: Get in the kitchen and bake some delicious heart-shaped treats with the little ones. You can make heart-shaped cookies, cupcakes, or even pancakes. Let the kids decorate the treats with icing, sprinkles, and edible glitter. It’s a fun and tasty way to celebrate the holiday together.
- Love-themed Scavenger Hunt: Create a love-themed scavenger hunt around the house or in the backyard. Hide small Valentine’s Day-themed items or clues that lead to a special surprise at the end. The kids will have a blast searching for the hidden treasures and solving the clues together.
These activities will not only bring joy and excitement to the kids but also allow them to express their creativity and show love and appreciation to others on this special day.
