We made plans to visit the Westfield Garden State Plaza with her best friend, hoping to find the perfect outfit for her big day. But that afternoon, the skies opened with a torrential downpour — thunder, lightning, and the kind of rain that usually makes me cancel any plans that involve driving. Parents dropping off their kids kept pausing to comment on how adorable the space was, and the girls were beyond thrilled.
