Her Dream Birthday: A Magical 10th Birthday Party Idea for Girls at The Summit Soirée

Planning a magical 10th birthday party idea for girls can feel overwhelming—but when it all comes together, the magic is unforgettable. My daughter recently turned 10, and we celebrated with a glamorous, girly party at The Summit Soirée that turned out to be everything she dreamed of (and more).

My daughter turned 10 recently, and she had one vision: a girly, dreamy birthday party surrounded by friends, fun, and florals. And honestly? She planned it better than I ever could have.

It all began with the dress — because of course it did.

We made plans to visit the Westfield Garden State Plaza with her best friend, hoping to find the perfect outfit for her big day. But that afternoon, the skies opened with a torrential downpour — thunder, lightning, and the kind of rain that usually makes me cancel any plans that involve driving. I’m not a fan of driving in storms, especially not in the evening.

Photo proof of the rain that appeared out of nowhere, attempting to derail our shopping plans.

But something told me to wait it out. Sure enough, fifteen minutes later the rain softened, and we hit the road.

We walked what felt like the entire mall, ducking in and out of stores, until we finally landed in Nordstrom. There it was — a beautiful, girly, floral dress that instantly felt like her. Soft, flowy, with pastel flowers that mirrored her energy and the aesthetic she wanted for her party.

But of course, the size 10 dress — meant for a 10-year-old — was too big.

Dress Option 1: Beautiful unicorn coded floor length dress.
Option 2: Dress with beautiful floral embroidery on the top and a double layered satin bottom with a slightly longer tail.

So the next day, I drove to the Short Hills Mall Nordstrom, hoping the smaller size would solve everything. Spoiler: it didn’t. Even the size 8 was a little loose. Oddly enough, it wasn’t until we tried on a size 7 that it finally fit just right. Thankfully, they had it in stock, and just like that — we had the dress.

Next came the beauty prep: she got her hair braided with a few pink strands woven in, press-on nails that sparkled, a touch of jewelry, and a soft fragrance from Bath & Body Works to complete the look. She was glowing with confidence — the kind of glow you can’t fake.

Now all that was left were the cupcakes.

I had a last-minute idea to swing by Costco for something simple, but when I arrived — they were completely out. No cupcakes, no cake.

Honestly? That was a blessing in disguise.

I searched Google for nearby bakeries and stumbled upon Crowley Cupcakes in Madison, NJ, which had glowing reviews. I drove over, not really knowing what to expect, and found a case full of gorgeous cupcakes. I picked two flavors — Oreo and vanilla with rainbow sprinkles — and they were absolutely delicious.

I will say, the total caught me off guard: $93 for 20 cupcakes. I’m not someone who buys cupcakes often, so the price felt high. But the moment I tasted one, I understood. These were fresh-baked, premium-quality cupcakes. You could taste the difference — and the smile on my daughter’s face made it more than worth it.

When we arrived at The Summit Soirée, everything felt like it clicked into place. The Summit Soirée was the perfect venue for a 10th birthday party for girls—it already had the dreamy decor, glittery accents, and elegant setup ready to go.

There was a personalized welcome sign outside with my daughter’s name on it — such a thoughtful touch that instantly made her feel special. The entire space was bathed in soft pink, gold, and floral touches. It needed zero extra decorating, which as a busy mom of four (with all summer babies, no less), felt like such a gift.

All we had to bring were the food and party favors. The venue took care of the rest — and I truly mean the rest.

The girls made their own custom tote bags, created lotions and bath bombs, had glitter added to their hair, pink diamond stickers placed on their cheeks, and danced their hearts out in a spontaneous limbo competition. It was pure joy.

Parents dropping off their kids kept pausing to comment on how adorable the space was, and the girls were beyond thrilled.

And the best part? She found this place. My daughter.

She researched, she planned, and she executed her perfect 10th birthday with vision and excitement. I was so proud — not just of how beautifully the day turned out, but of how confidently she led the way in making it happen.

This wasn’t just a party — it was a reflection of her growing independence, creativity, and style. A perfect reminder that girlhood should be celebrated with intention, sparkle, and space to shine.

We’re calling this her “perfect 10.” And honestly, it really was.
