Pregnancy Weight Gain Fail!

During my pregnancy with my first born son, I gained a total of 53 lbs, which did not include the 5 to 7 lbs of extra weight I was already carrying pre-pregnancy. If you watch the youtube video you will clearly see that I did not even look like the same person! It was horrible! The weight brought on more problems such as gestational diabetes, preterm labor that placed me in the hospital for 5 days and bedrest to follow. I learned a lot of lessons during my first pregnancy. One is that you are not eating for two, and this is not the time to excuse yourself for eating candy bars and chips more regularly. It’s the total opposite! My body was more sensitive to low-nutrition foods more than ever. It was my time to look at what was on my plate and determine whether it was worth placing in my body. I hope that any moms who are struggling with these things find inspiration in my story and that it proves value.
